who has words for me?
sappy, slow, sweet
thick with emotion
languid
so sticky they’ll outlive you, us, me
cherry picked and mindfully etched together
who has been paying attention to me?
what have you noticed?
won’t you tell me in elaborate detail?
give me words to remember
to encapsulate a moment
to clutch to my chest and giggle under my covers
who has a sonnet in wherein i am the subject?
a song?
a verse?
a passing thought?
what way have you constructed the sentences to potray what you feel for me?
do you find yourself feeling like words fail you?
like there is no phrase or utterance in anyones mother tongue that can truly describe what my presence has done to you?
does it beseech you to try anyway?
who has words for me?
ill admit-
i’d like to hear it
i’m too old to be playing coy
ill admit
sometimes it feels like i need to hear it
sometimes i feel like a dry stamp
unremarkable and easily forgotten
i’ll admit
i haven’t heard words like that in a long time
so much so that,
i’m not sure if i ever have.
who has words for me?
if you do, where are you you?
why do you withhold them so cruelly ?
why do you let me suffer?
how may i have anyway of knowing if i mean anything to anyone at all?
